The room appeared to not have been vacuumed for some time and the floor was a bit riffy, other than that no problem.

"After eating a joghurt for breakfast I realised it was 4 days out of date. It could have been an excellent expeience but the smell in the room and the out of date food was disappointing. The rest of the food was nice and the location is great. The staff are friendly and professional." (99373675)

    big room

the smell of stale cigarettes covered over by some sort of air freshener. Is smoking allowed in the hotel rooms?

Suitable for a family for a short stay." (99952101)

"The hotel was great, I felt the website picture of the outside did not do the hotel justice. We were impressed with the standard of the hotel at such a good price. Would recommend the hotel and would definitly stay there again should we want to stay in Galway. My aged parents who were staying with us and have been holidaying all around Europe over the last 2 months were also very impressed." (3304832977)

    Locality,price and friendly atmosphere

"Very good value for webrate, exceptional service by reception lady, who was professional, outstandingly helpful and made a very friendly welcome. According to accommodation I supposed I was lucky to stay in a modern room facing backwards which granted a more than pleasant stay. Generally speaking, it is worth making specific requests while booking which on this occasion was exceedingly considered." (3304784366)

Very bright, spacious and quiet room in the back

  • 6/10 Anonymous (Young couple)

    location, breakfast

    noisy, not too clean

  • 5/10 Anonymous (Other)

    on  April 13, 2006

"Car parking and proximity to the town centre is first class. The room was generally clean, warm and spacious. However, we got no sleep at all due to the rowdy behaviour of guests in surrounding rooms!! Shouting, banging, Slamming doors, banging walls....... We did complain, but that did not do much good. We are all for people having a good time, but not partying in the hotel rooms until 5-6am:((( Staff did try to quieten them down, but to no avail. Also, the telephone buttons were stuck down - presumably with dirt, and it was also stuck to the table with dirt. This meant we had to go down to reception to ask about the noise levels. Also, i have to question the wisdom of putting us in a room which was surrounded by what we were told was a group of 18 young people. Why not have them together instead of spread out. Surely not to hard to do?? I will be visiting Galway regularly, but will definately NOT be staying in the Western Hotel, or recommending it to others." (3304477455)

The room was generally clean and spacious, and the welcome was warm.

We got NO SLEEP on Saturdaynight/sunday morning, and also Sunday night/monday morning due to the rowdy behaviour of guests in surrounding rooms.

"Giudizio generale buono, ritornerei volentieri. Ottima colazione, stanze spaziose e sempre pulite, ottimo personale, disponibile e qualificato. Ottimo il Pub dell'Hotel." (97797143)
